Lelit โ€” Dual Boiler Espresso โ€” Made in Italy

Lelit Bianca V3 PL162T

Dual Boiler ยท Flow Control Paddle ยท Rotary Pump ยท PID โ€” The Prosumer Standard

The Lelit Bianca V3 is the espresso machine serious home baristas save up for. Built around a dual boiler system, a rotary pump, and the legendary L58E group head โ€” itself an E61-format thermosiphon group with an integrated walnut-wood flow control paddle โ€” the Bianca puts full command of the extraction process directly in your hands. Adjust brew pressure in real time as the shot pulls, dial in pre-infusion electronically, monitor group pressure on the dedicated manometer, and track every variable on the OLED display. This is the level of control that until recently required a commercial machine costing three times as much.

The V3 generation brings faster heat-up times, an electronic low-flow mode that automates pre-infusion profiles without touching the paddle, four programmable power modes, and refined software throughout. The result is a machine that rewards both the beginner learning to dial in and the experienced barista chasing extraction perfection โ€” without ever outgrowing either.

Key Features
๐ŸŽš๏ธ Flow Control Paddle (Manual + Electronic) The walnut wood paddle on the L58E group head lets you manipulate water flow and brew pressure in real time during extraction. V3 adds an electronic low-flow mode โ€” pre-infusion and flow profiling programmable without touching the paddle. The group manometer gives live visual pressure feedback throughout the shot.
โš™๏ธ Dual Stainless Steel Boilers Independent 0.8L brew boiler and 1.5L steam boiler, both stainless steel with independent PID temperature control. Simultaneous brewing and steaming with full thermal stability. Steam boiler can be disabled independently via the display โ€” useful for espresso-only sessions to save energy.
๐Ÿ”„ Rotary Pump Whisper-quiet rotary pump with external pressure adjustment screw for precise 9-bar calibration. Rotary pumps run cooler, last longer, and produce less vibration than vibratory pumps โ€” essential for a machine at this level. Also enables direct plumb-in connection to mains water.
๐Ÿ“Š OLED Display + Shot Timer High-resolution OLED display with independent temperature readout for both boilers, shot timer (displays for 20 seconds post-extraction), partial and total dose counter, pre-infusion settings, reserve mode indicator, and ยฐC/ยฐF switching. All machine parameters accessible and programmable from the display.
๐ŸŒก๏ธ L58E Group Head Lelit's proprietary L58E group โ€” an E61-format thermosiphon group in chrome-plated brass, 58mm. Hot water circulates constantly through the group for thermal stability and portafilter pre-warming. The dedicated group manometer measures real extraction pressure โ€” essential for flow profiling work.
๐Ÿ’ง Reserve Mode If the 2.5L tank runs low during an active extraction, Reserve mode automatically activates โ€” the machine completes the shot using residual water before alerting you to refill. Eliminates the risk of a ruined shot from an empty tank mid-pull.
โ™จ๏ธ Anti-Burn Steam Wand Cool-touch, anti-burn steam wand with multidirectional movement. Includes both 2-hole and 4-hole steam nozzles โ€” switch between them for different milk texturing styles and drink volumes. Spring-loaded steam and hot water valves for smooth, consistent operation.
๐Ÿ’ง Repositionable 2.5L Tank The external 2.5L water tank doesn't sit above the boilers โ€” it remains cool during operation, keeping your water fresh. Position it on the left, right, or rear to suit your bench layout. Alternatively, connect directly to mains water via the included plumb-in kit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Flow control lets you adjust the rate of water flow through the coffee puck in real time during extraction. On the Bianca V3, you have two ways to do this: manually via the walnut paddle on the L58E group head, or electronically using the programmed low-flow mode. The group manometer gives you live pressure feedback as you pull the shot. In practice, this means you can begin extraction with low pressure for a gentle pre-infusion to saturate the puck evenly, then ramp up to full pressure โ€” improving extraction uniformity, reducing channelling, and unlocking flavour clarity that standard fixed-pressure machines cannot match. For light roasts this is particularly powerful; for dark roasts it smooths harsh notes. It's the feature that puts the Bianca in a class of its own at this price point.
The Bianca V3's flow profiling capabilities reward a high-quality grinder. You need stepless or micro-adjustment grind settings to dial in precisely for different extraction profiles. We recommend pairing it with a grinder in the Eureka Mignon Specialita or Oro range, the Niche Zero, Mazzer Mini, or Mahlkonig X54 as a minimum baseline. Single-dose grinders are well suited to the Bianca's workflow. Di Pacci stocks the full range of compatible grinders โ€” call our Sydney team on (02) 9758 0760 for a matched recommendation based on your budget and coffee preferences.
The V3 heats up faster than the V2 โ€” typically around 20โ€“25 minutes from cold to fully stable operating temperature with both boilers active. If you only need the brew boiler (espresso-only session with steam boiler disabled), heat-up is closer to 10โ€“15 minutes. The four power modes โ€” Always-On, Sleep, Eco, and Standby โ€” give you flexibility to keep the machine warm in the background without running both boilers at full power all day.
Yes. The Bianca V3 is plumb-in compatible and includes the direct water connection hose in the box. You can switch between the 2.5L removable tank and a direct water line connection. Plumb-in is ideal for high-volume home use or if you prefer not to refill the tank. Note that direct plumb-in bypasses the tank water filter, so we recommend installing an inline water filter or softener if your mains water is hard โ€” protecting the boilers from scale build-up.
Yes, with a caveat. The Bianca V3 has an accessible learning curve for its core functions โ€” dual PID temperature control, standard brewing, and steam wanding. The OLED display makes settings clear and navigable. The flow control paddle is entirely optional when you're starting out; you can ignore it and brew at standard pressure while you develop your technique. As your skills advance, the paddle, electronic low-flow mode, and pressure profiling are there to explore. Most new Bianca owners find they're producing excellent espresso within their first week โ€” and still discovering new things months later.
