Moka Pot & Stovetop Coffee Makers

Bialetti & Pezzetti Moka Pot Coffee Makers — 1–12 Cup — Gas, Electric & Induction — Australia

A moka pot is the classic Italian stovetop coffee maker — designed by Alfonso Bialetti in 1933 and still built the same way today. Steam pressure of around 1.5 bar pushes hot water through finely-ground coffee, producing bold, concentrated moka pot coffee in about five minutes. No electricity, no capsules — just a stovetop.

Di Pacci stocks the full Australian Bialetti range — the classic octagonal Moka Express, stainless steel Venus for induction, and the Brikka with its crema valve — alongside Pezzetti percolators, our own Precision stovetop range, and replacement seals and filters.

Moka Pot — Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a moka pot on an induction cooktop?

Only stainless steel moka pots work directly on induction — aluminium Bialetti Moka Express pots need an induction plate adaptor, which we stock. The Bialetti Venus range is stainless steel and induction-ready out of the box.

How long does a moka pot last?

With basic care, 20+ years. The rubber gasket and filter plate wear faster than the pot itself and should be replaced every 1–2 years of regular use — we stock replacement seals and filters for most Bialetti sizes.

How do I clean a moka pot?

Rinse with warm water only — no soap, and never in the dishwasher. Check the rubber gasket periodically and replace it if cracked or hardened.

What coffee grind should I use in a moka pot?

Fine — finer than drip filter, slightly coarser than espresso, similar to table salt. Good moka pot coffee depends on getting this right: too fine and the pot won't pressurise properly; too coarse and the coffee will be weak.
