Di Pacci — 40 mm Conical Burr Grinder for Filter and Brewed Coffee

Baratza Encore Coffee Grinder

The Baratza Encore is the simple, reliable first burr grinder for plunger, pour-over and drip coffee, with 40 settings and burrs made in Liechtenstein.

The Baratza Encore pairs 40 mm conical steel burrs, made by Etzinger in Liechtenstein, with a high-torque DC motor that turns the burrs at a steady 550 RPM. Its 40 grind settings cover a range from 250 to 1200 microns, enough for everything from AeroPress and pour-over to French press and cold brew, at about 0.8 to 1.1 g per second.

It's designed and engineered by Baratza in Seattle and manufactured and assembled in Taiwan. Operation is one front pulse button plus an on/off switch, the 225 g hopper and 142 g grounds bin suit a household's daily brew, and it draws just 70 W. The Encore is built for brewed coffee; if you want to grind for an espresso machine, choose an espresso grinder instead.

Key Features of the Baratza Encore

⚙️ 40 mm conical burrs

Steel burrs made by Etzinger in Liechtenstein give an even grind, so filter coffee tastes clean rather than muddy.

🎚️ 40 grind settings

Settings from 250 to 1200 microns cover AeroPress, pour-over, drip, plunger and cold brew.

🔇 Cool, steady DC motor

A high-torque motor turns the burrs at 550 RPM, keeping heat and noise down.

🧽 Simple to use and clean

One pulse button and an on/off switch; the hopper lifts off and the burrs come out for cleaning.

Why a Burr Grinder Beats a Blade Grinder

A blade grinder chops beans into a mix of dust and chunks. In a brewer, the dust over-extracts and turns bitter while the chunks under-extract and taste sour.

The Encore's conical burrs crush beans between two cutting surfaces at a set gap.
That gap is set by the 40-step collar, so every grind comes out close to the same size.
Even particles extract evenly, so you can change the grind one step and actually taste the difference.

It's the single biggest upgrade most people can make to their filter coffee, often bigger than changing the brewer.

Bravo Baratza

Perfect grind for espresso and so much quieter than a Mini Macho!

Glad that I spent the extra money buying a very good product that was very well packaged and delivered to my door. Much appreciated! :)

Baratza Encore

Just had a go and very happy with the result. I had bought an expensive coffee bean, grounded, which iI will use up first. So still to do the cleaning!

Great little machine

Baratza Encore is a great little machine. It grinds really well and quickly. I would have given it 5 stars except it's pretty noisy when grinding. Otherwise, a top machine.

Nice solid machine

Deserved its positive review at Wirecutter in the NY Times; solid feel to machine and perfectly even grounds; good value for money.

Good grinder

I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because it was extremely difficult to attach the hopper. I had to go online for a video. Once that was done, I was happy with it.

Baratza Encore coffee grinder

We are really pleased with this grinder and very happy to have been able to purchase from Di Pacci Coffee Company. The service they provided us was exemplary and delivery was very timely. The grinder works very well and is a vast improvement on our previous blade grinder, seeming more sympathetic to the coffee beans and substantially quieter in use too.
Thank you Di Pacci Coffee. very satisfied customers !
