How to brew with the V60 01

Fold a size 01 paper filter along its seam and seat it in the cone. Rinse it with hot water to remove any paper taste and to pre-heat the ceramic, then discard the rinse water. Add medium-ground coffee, pour a little water to let the grounds bloom, then pour in slow, steady circles from the centre outward. A gooseneck kettle makes the pour easier to control.

How many cups does the V60 size 01 make?

The size 01 ceramic V60 is rated for 1-2 cups. If you regularly brew for more people, the larger size 02 (rated 1-4 cups) is the better fit.

Which paper filters does it use?

It uses Hario V60 size 01 paper filters. Make sure you buy 01 filters rather than 02, as the larger filters will not sit correctly in this cone.

Why choose ceramic over plastic or glass?

Ceramic retains heat well once pre-warmed, which helps keep the brew temperature stable through the pour. Give it a quick rinse with hot water before brewing to warm it up.

Do I need a gooseneck kettle?
