The Lelit Mara X PL62X is one of the most celebrated compact home espresso machines in the world — a heat exchanger machine that solved the biggest limitation of traditional HX machines through its patented double-probe dual PID system. One sensor monitors the steam boiler; a second monitors the heat exchanger, adjusting temperature twice per second — delivering brew temperature stability within 2°C without the cooling flushes conventional HX machines require. What's the difference between the two operating modes?

Switch via a hidden button behind the drip tray. X-Mode Coffee (Brew Priority) holds a lower, stable temperature for consistent shot-to-shot espresso, removing the temperature surfing most HX machines need. X-Mode Steam (Steam Priority) raises the boiler for faster, more powerful steam for milk drinks. Use Coffee mode for espresso sessions, Steam mode for back-to-back milk drinks — they toggle instantly.

Do I need a cooling flush before each shot?

No — a defining advantage over traditional HX machines. The dual-probe PID system adjusts brew temperature at the heat exchanger twice per second, holding it within 2°C without cooling flushes. Most HX machines need a flush before every shot to purge overheated water; on the Mara X, just pull the shot when ready.

How long does it take to heat up?

Lelit estimates around 20–24 minutes to full thermal equilibrium from cold. Many owners use a smart plug to have it warm before they reach the kitchen. You can pull shots sooner, but allowing the full warm-up heat-soaks the group, portafilter and baskets for the most consistent extraction. After that, it's ready for back-to-back shots.

Customer Error Returns:
We are able to return the product for a refund if the packaging remains intact and the item has not been unboxed. Kindly notify us within 14 days of the date of delivery. If your item is unused and unboxed, we can issue a refund, minus a restocking & handling fee of 30% of the invoiced value, provided that we are notified within 14 days of the delivery date. The product must be returned at store or shipped by customer at their own cost. The refund or credit will be processed after the item has been returned and inspected to ensure that it is in re sellable condition. The product needs to be returned safely by the customer.
