Di Pacci — Rotary Pump Heat-Exchanger E61 Espresso Machine

Rocket Mozzafiato Cronometro R Coffee Machine Black

The Rocket Mozzafiato Cronometro R is a quiet, rotary-pump heat-exchanger machine from Milan with PID and a built-in shot timer.

The Rocket Mozzafiato Cronometro R is a heat-exchanger espresso machine with an E61 group, a quiet rotary pump, PID control and a digital shot timer (the Cronometro). It runs on 1350 W from a standard 10 amp outlet and can draw from its internal reservoir or be plumbed in.

The "R" means rotary pump, which is noticeably quieter than a vibration pump and lets you switch to mains water later. Rocket insulates the 1.8 L boiler and uses 9 mm boiler end plates, and the Mozzafiato body is the sculpted alternative to Rocket's square Giotto. This one is the black finish.

Why a Rotary Pump Is Worth It

Most home espresso machines use a vibration pump. The Cronometro R uses a rotary pump instead.

  • Rotary pumps run with a low hum, so early-morning coffee doesn't wake the house.
  • They build pressure smoothly and run cooler under long use.
  • They can be fed from mains water, so you can plumb the machine in later.

Combined with PID and a shot timer, it's a machine you can grow into for years.

Mozzafiato Cronometro R vs Faema Faemina

Two premium one-group home machines on a 10 amp outlet: a rotary heat exchanger and a dual boiler.

Feature Mozzafiato Cronometro R Faema Faemina
Boiler 1.8 L heat exchanger Dual: 0.6 L coffee, 2.6 L steam
Pump Rotary Not published
Water Tank or plumbed 2.5 L tank

Di Pacci recommendation: The Cronometro R is the quiet, plumbable E61 option for a home barista who drinks mostly milk coffee. Choose the Faema Faemina if you want separate brew and steam boilers. Don't bother with either if you're brand new to espresso; the Lelit Anna PL41 is a gentler start.
