The Niche Zero is the grinder that redefined what a home espresso grinder should be. When Niche launched it in 2019 — originally crowdfunded in just four days — it introduced something the prosumer market had never seen at its level: 63mm hardened steel conical burrs (the same specification as the commercial Mazzer Kony), a straight-through grind path with virtually zero retention, and a stepless dial offering infinite grind adjustment from espresso to filter — all in a compact, beautifully designed aluminium body with real oak trim.

The result is a grinder that wastes nothing, retains almost no coffee between doses, grinds quietly at 72dB, and produces a consistently uniform particle size that makes dialling in espresso genuinely easy — and keeps it dialled in. Niche Zero — Common Questions

What makes the Niche Zero different from other home grinders?

Three things: burr quality, retention and workflow. The 63mm hardened steel conical burrs are the same specification as those in the commercial Mazzer Kony — a burr set you wouldn't normally find in a home grinder. The straight-through grind path retains less than 0.1g between doses, so no stale coffee contaminates your next cup. And the single-dose workflow means you always grind fresh beans from an airtight container rather than a hopper — the best possible starting point for espresso or filter.

Can the Niche Zero grind for both espresso and filter?

Yes — the infinite stepless dial adjusts continuously from espresso fine to filter coarse with a simple turn, no tools or recalibration required. The 63mm conical burrs perform well across the full range. For espresso it's exceptional; for filter it performs very well, though dedicated large-burr filter grinders like the Fellow Ode Gen 2 may produce slightly more uniform coarse particles for very demanding filter brewing.

What's the difference between the Niche Zero Black and White?

The Black and White are identical in every performance specification — same burrs, motor, retention, grind quality, dimensions and weight. The only difference is the anodised aluminium body colour: Black has a matte black finish, White a matte white finish, and both feature real oak trim. The choice is purely aesthetic.

What espresso machines pair well with the Niche Zero?

The 58mm dosing cup is designed for direct transfer into a standard 58mm portafilter — the café standard used by Rancilio, ECM, Profitec, Lelit, La Marzocco and most prosumer machines. How long do the Niche Zero burrs last?

The 63mm hardened steel conical burrs are rated for approximately 600–800kg of coffee before meaningful wear. At 20g per dose and one dose per day, that's roughly 30–40 years of daily home use — most home users will never need to replace them. When replacement is eventually needed, replacement burrs are available, and the tool-free burr access makes the swap straightforward.

Customer Error Returns:
We are able to return the product for a refund if the packaging remains intact and the item has not been unboxed. Kindly notify us within 14 days of the date of delivery. If your item is unused and unboxed, we can issue a refund, minus a restocking & handling fee of 30% of the invoiced value, provided that we are notified within 14 days of the delivery date. The product must be returned at store or shipped by customer at their own cost. The refund or credit will be processed after the item has been returned and inspected to ensure that it is in re sellable condition. The product needs to be returned safely by the customer.
