Di Pacci — Heat-Exchanger PID Espresso Machine with Rotary Pump

Quick Mill Aquila PID White Coffee Machine

The Quick Mill Aquila PID pairs a 1.8 litre heat-exchanger boiler with PID control and a quiet rotary pump, in a white stainless body that can run from its tank or plumb straight into mains water.

The Quick Mill Aquila PID is an Italian heat-exchanger espresso machine for home baristas who want to brew and steam at the same time. Its 1.8 litre insulated stainless boiler is held steady by PID, an OLED display shows temperature and a shot timer, and a rotary pump lets you run from the 3 litre tank or connect directly to mains water.

Quick Mill's rotary pump system cuts vibration by up to 40 percent compared with its standard pumps, so the Aquila is noticeably quieter than a vibration-pump HX. Programmable pre-infusion, standby and eco modes sit behind the display, and the white powder-coated stainless body is finished with wooden joysticks and portafilter handle.

Key Features of the Aquila PID

🔥 Brew and steam together

The heat-exchanger boiler keeps steam on tap while fresh water is heated for each shot, so lattes don't mean waiting between steps.

🌡️ PID with OLED display

PID holds boiler temperature steady, and the display shows temperature, a shot timer and a low-water warning.

🔁 Quiet rotary pump

Quick Mill's rotary system cuts vibration by up to 40 percent, making early-morning shots far less noisy.

🚰 Tank or mains water

Run from the 3 litre tank or connect directly to mains water and stop refilling altogether.

💧 Programmable pre-infusion

Set a gentle pre-wet before full pressure, plus standby and eco modes to save power.

📊 Dual pressure gauge

Watch pump and boiler pressure side by side while you dial in each shot.

How a PID Heat Exchanger Brews and Steams at Once

A heat-exchanger machine has one boiler held at steam temperature, with a separate tube running through it that heats fresh water for each shot. The Aquila adds PID control to make that boiler far more predictable.

  • The 1.8 litre boiler sits at steam temperature, ready for milk at any moment.
  • Brew water passes through the heat exchanger inside the boiler, so every shot uses fresh water rather than water that has sat in the boiler.
  • PID holds the boiler temperature tightly, so brew temperature stays consistent from one shot to the next instead of drifting with a pressurestat.

The result is café-style workflow on one boiler: pull a shot and steam milk at the same time, with the consistency PID brings.

What's in the Box

  • Quick Mill Aquila PID espresso machine (white)
  • Portafilter with wooden handle and filter baskets

You'll still need an espresso grinder, a 58 mm tamper and a milk jug. Plumbing in needs a mains water point and ideally a water filter.

Aquila PID vs Lelit Bianca V3

The Lelit Bianca V3 is the usual step up for buyers wanting a dual boiler and flow control.

Feature Quick Mill Aquila PID Lelit Bianca V3
Boiler setup 1.8 L heat exchanger 0.8 L brew + 1.5 L steam dual boiler
Temperature control PID Dual PID
Flow control No Yes, paddle on the E61 group
Pump Rotary Rotary
Water 3 L tank or mains 2.5 L tank or mains

Di Pacci recommendation: Choose the Aquila PID if you want a quiet, plumbable machine that brews and steams together without paying for a second boiler. Don't bother if you want to set brew and steam temperatures separately or profile flow; the Lelit Bianca V3 is the better buy for that.

Best Grinders for the Aquila PID

Pick a grinder with fine espresso adjustment that suits a machine at this level.

Grinder Burr Why it pairs well

Quick Mill Aquila PID White Coffee Machine — Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Quick Mill Aquila PID a heat exchanger or dual boiler?

It is a heat exchanger. One 1.8 litre insulated stainless boiler provides steam, while fresh brew water is heated as it passes through the heat exchanger, so you can brew and steam at the same time.

Can the Quick Mill Aquila PID be plumbed in?

Yes. It runs from its 3 litre tank or can be connected directly to mains water. Di Pacci offers plumbed installation in Sydney metro areas.

Does the Aquila PID need a 15 amp power point?

No. It draws 1300 to 1700 W and runs on a standard 10 amp outlet.

How long does the Aquila PID take to heat up?

Quick Mill quotes about 12 minutes from cold to ready.

What does the PID display show?

The OLED display shows boiler temperature, a shot timer and a low-water warning, and gives access to pre-infusion, standby and eco settings.

Is the white Aquila PID different from the other colours?

Only in finish. The white, black and stainless versions share the same boiler, pump and controls.
