Di Pacci — Dual-Boiler Single-Group Espresso Machine with Shot Recording

Slayer Steam Single Espresso Machine

The Slayer Steam Single is the most accessible Slayer: cafe-grade shot control and steam in a single group that plugs in and runs from its own water tank.

The Slayer Steam Single pairs a PID-controlled 0.8 L brew boiler with a 2.4 L steam boiler, a rotary vane pump and a 2.5 L internal water reservoir, so it doesn't need to be plumbed in. A three-position brew actuator lets you shift between flow rates during the shot, and a dedicated pre-infusion circuit, programmable up to 10 seconds, wets the puck gently before full extraction.

What makes it different from most prosumer machines is record and playback: pull a shot by hand, save it, and the machine replays that recipe on demand, with up to two recipes stored. Electronic steam valves, a heads-up barista dashboard and Slayer's million-cycle commercial group make it as at home in a busy office or small cafe corner as on a kitchen bench.

Key Features of the Slayer Steam Single

⏺️ Record and playback

Pull a shot manually, save it, and replay it at the press of a button; two recipes can be stored.

🎛️ Three-position actuator

Move between pre-infusion and full extraction mid-shot to change body and sweetness without touching the grind.

💧 Dedicated pre-infusion circuit

Programmable pre-infusion of up to 10 seconds saturates the coffee bed gently for more even extraction.

♨️ Separate brew and steam boilers

A PID-controlled 0.8 L brew boiler and a 2.4 L steam boiler let you pull and steam at the same time.

🚰 Plug-and-play reservoir

The 2.5 L internal tank means no plumber is needed; an optional plumbing kit is available.

📊 Heads-up dashboard

Shot parameters display in real time and can be changed on the fly, with a shot mirror and light to watch the puck.

How Record and Playback Saves Your Best Shot

Manual control is only useful if you can repeat the result. The Steam Single records what you did with the actuator and plays it back exactly.

  • Dial in by hand: use the three-position actuator to move between pre-infusion and full extraction, tasting as you go.
  • Save the shot: the machine records the timing of each stage as a recipe, with two recipes available.
  • Play it back: anyone can then pull that same profile with one action, shot after shot.

You get the expressive extraction Slayer is known for, without needing the same barista on the machine every time.

Slayer Steam Single vs Slayer Espresso 1 Group

Both are single-group Slayers with separate brew and steam boilers. The Steam Single trades the needle valve for repeatable recipes and a built-in tank.

Feature Slayer Steam Single Slayer Espresso 1 Group
Shot control 3-position actuator, programmable pre-infusion, 2 recipes Patented needle valve
Brew boiler 0.8 L, PID 1.1 L independent
Steam boiler 2.4 L 3.3 L
Water 2.5 L internal reservoir External reservoir or plumbed
Weight 38 kg 50 kg

Di Pacci recommendation: Choose the Steam Single if you want Slayer shot quality that anyone in the house or office can repeat, without plumbing. Don't bother if you love fine-tuning every shot by feel; the Slayer Espresso 1 Group and its needle valve give you more direct control.

Slayer Steam Single — Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Slayer Steam Single need to be plumbed in?

No. It has a 2.5 litre internal water reservoir, so it plugs in and runs. An optional plumbing kit is available if you want to connect it to mains water.

What power point does the Slayer Steam Single need?

Slayer rates the 220 to 240 V model at 10 A and 2.1 to 2.4 kW, so it runs from a standard Australian 10 amp outlet. Avoid sharing that circuit with a kettle or other heavy appliance.

What is record and playback on the Steam Single?

You pull a shot manually with the three-position actuator, and the machine records the timing so it can repeat that recipe automatically. Up to two recipes can be stored.

How big is the Slayer Steam Single?

It is 457 mm wide, 571 mm deep and 368 mm high, excluding the portafilter, actuator and cup rails, and weighs 38 kg.

Is the Slayer Steam Single suitable for a small cafe?

It suits low-volume venues, offices and kiosks well thanks to its commercial group and separate steam boiler. For a busy cafe with queues, call us on (02) 9758 0760 about a multi-group Slayer.

Which grinder suits the Slayer Steam Single?

A consistent espresso grinder such as the Mahlkönig E65S GbW for an office, or a Niche Zero or Eureka Mignon Specialita at home.
